Gastric Balloon in JLT

Non-surgical weight loss at Armada Medical Centre, Jumeirah Lake Towers — including cases that need general anaesthesia.

Armada Medical Centre

Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Dubai

Clinic days: Wednesday & Friday · 11:00–18:00

Anaesthesia: local, sedation, or general anaesthesia where required

What happens here

  • Endoscopic balloon placement and removal — 6 or 12-month balloons
  • Allurion swallowable balloon — no endoscopy, no sedation
  • Consultations, assessment and follow-up
  • Diagnostic gastroscopy where the stomach needs checking first

When general anaesthesia matters

Most balloon placements are done comfortably under light sedation, and that is the usual approach. Some situations call for more:

  • Patients who cannot tolerate sedation for medical reasons, or who have had a difficult experience previously
  • Significant anxiety around endoscopy that makes an awake procedure genuinely distressing
  • Difficult removal — occasionally a balloon needs more time and control to retrieve safely
  • Combined procedures where something else is addressed in the same session

The JLT facility is licensed for general anaesthesia, so these cases can be scheduled here rather than compromising. Which approach suits you is decided at consultation.

Choosing between locations

For a straightforward balloon placement, either location works and it usually comes down to which days and which part of Dubai suit you. If your assessment suggests general anaesthesia would be safer or more comfortable, JLT is where that happens.
